Savory Orange Shrimp

This Asian style shrimp is excellent served with simply steamed asparagus, green beans, or broccoli and white rice.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons - peanut oil
5 - minced garlic cloves
2 pounds - peeled and deveined shrimp
3 cups - freshly squeezed orange juice
1 tablespoon - hot pepper sauce (or to taste)
1 tablespoon - Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon - brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon - salt
2 tablespoons - cornstarch
2 tablespoons - water

Instructions

Heat the oil in a heavy skillet or wok over medium high heat. Add the garlic and saut? for 1 minute. Add the shrimp and saut? for about 2 minutes, or until pink and opaque. Add the orange juice, hot sauce, Worcestershire, sugar, and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook for two minutes. While the mixture is dissolving mix together the cornstarch and water in a small bowl. Add the cornstarch mixture to the wok and stir well. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the the mixture is thick. Serve hot.
