Easy Chocolate Microwave Fudge

One of the most indulgent treats out there is good, old-fashioned chocolate fudge. Perfect for Christmas movie marathon snacking, it’s hard to believe that this creamy homemade fudge is made with only three ingredients and baked in the microwave. Even better, you can top it with gooey, salted caramel, mix in your favorite chopped nuts or add a little coffee for a slight kick. You won't believe how easy this recipe is to make!
Easy Microwave Fudge Recipe
Prep time: 10 mins
Cook time: 3 mins
Total time: 13 mins
Servings: 32
Ingredients
3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (can also use milk chocolate)
14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup butter
Instructions
Line a 8×8′′ baking dish with parchment paper. Lightly butter and set aside. Combine the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk and butter in a large, microwaveable bowl. Microwave for one minute at 50% power. Stir, and then microwave in 30 second increments until the chocolate has melted (about 2 minutes). Be careful not to over cook, or it will become grainy or burnt.
Quickly pour into the prepared baking dish and press down with a spatula. Refrigerate until set.
Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve, and then slice into squares. (I find it easiest to cut with a plastic knife).
Variations
Caramel Topping: Microwave 11oz caramel pieces and 2 Tbs heavy cream in a bowl for 1 min. Stir and microwave for an additional 30 secs if needed. Stir until smooth, then pour over the cold, hardened fudge. Top with sea salt immediately, if desired.
Fudge with nuts: Mix in 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans immediately after the chocolate has melted.
Peppermint fudge: Sprinkle crushed candy canes on top immediately after you pour the chocolate into the pan.
