Materials

  • Tape

  • Double-sided tape

  • Wrapping paper

  • Scissors

Instructions

  1. Measure the wrapping paper around the body of the box, leaving a couple of extra inches of overhang.

  2. Secure the paper 2 inches in from the naked corner. Pull the paper taut all the way around.

  3. Pull the final side of paper up to the corner and make a crease.

  4. Fold along that crease and secure with double-sided tape.

  5. Fold the paper overhang down and secure with tape. Fold the corners into a triangle and pull smooth. Secure with tape.

  6. Complete for all corners, then turn the box over and repeat the process on the other end of the box.

  7. Unroll more wrapping paper on the table, then set the box on top with a bare side down. Allow about 2 inches of wrapping paper to extend beyond both ends of the box. Cut the paper.

  8. Fold one end of the new piece of paper to make a clean edge.

  9. Tape the creased edge of the wrapping paper just lower than the top of the box to cover the bare space.

  10. Turn the box over and crease the bare edge of the new wrapping paper, then attach it to the other side of the bare space.

  11. Fold the bottom paper overhang down and secure with tape. Fold the corners inwards to form triangles and pull smooth. Secure with double-sided tape. Repeat on all corners.

  12. Repeat steps 7-11 to cover the bare space on the other end of the box. Add ribbon and embellishments.
