Fulfilled by our friends at ZOX
One of the beauties of ZOX is that the name and card text is going to vary in meaning for everyone who sees it. Stand Together, in particular, is one that I think will hit home for different people in different ways. For me, it reminds me of my friends. As some of you know, I struggle with anxiety. Over the past few weeks, it’s gotten pretty bad (seasonal changes, maybe? I’m not sure why), but my friends have gathered around me to encourage me through the fears that arise and the doubts that cloud my thoughts. Despite my worries about my friends judging me for my anxiety, they stood beside me and helped me through it.
The card text on here, a quote from Gandhi, talks about how unity can only be real if it’s able to withstand the severest strain. For many people, that “severest strain” depends on what your breaking point is and what you hope people would love you through. For me, during these tough few weeks, I feared that my friends would not want to deal with my anxiety or they would love me less for it. They proved me wrong, and now I know how much our friendship truly means to both of us because of it.
Things will get hard in relationships, in communities, in families, etc. It’s just an inevitable part of life. But the good news is that if people truly care about and love each other, it doesn’t matter what they go through, because they will stand together and fight through it. My hope with this ZOX is that through your trials and tribulations, you remember that you have people fighting with you, and maybe, there’s someone that needs you to stand beside them, too.
