Story

Well, I really hope I don’t cry while writing this. My mom is my best friend. She may not believe that statement because I have a few really amazing people that also qualify as best friends, but not in the same way as my mom. She’s been with me through the hardest days of my life and the best.

Let me give you a quick recap of the beginning years of my life… I used to absolutely despise going to school. From day one, I detested it. It would’ve made more sense for me to hate it in later elementary school years (drama, ugh), but I didn’t like the first years because I had major separation anxiety with my mom. I cried every single morning in the first few weeks of a new school year, screamed while she left down the hall. I vividly remember one day having to be held back by a teacher so my mom could drop me off. Two of her friends had to walk with her and make sure she didn’t turn around so I could calm down.

Having endured that, my mom and I are obviously very close from all that time. In the last few years, while I lived at home for college, we grew even closer. It’s hard to put into words how grateful I am for everything she does for me. I always tell her that she has the gift of genuinely loving people because she does. No questions asked, no matter how awful a situation or person is, she loves, and she’s kind. I didn’t have the best teenage girl attitude… who really does… but my mom was always forgiving. Always loving.

She supports me through my wildest dreams. She encourages me to take a leap of faith when I’m afraid but excited. She’s my biggest fan and my absolute best friend.

If you’re reading this, I love you, mom, and thank you so very much for everything. (BTW, I am crying now) <3

For you other dear readers, I hope this sweet, beautiful strap helps you tell your mom how much you love her, especially if you don’t have the words.

Thank you to all the moms out there for everything you do. You’re the best kind of teacher, supporter, and friend.

Be bold,

Landri
