Story

I heard a really good analogy in church a week or two ago about Weebles. Do you remember those toys? They’re egg-shaped toys from the 70s that never fall. You can push, tap, or shake them, and while they will tip over, they will spring right back up into vertical alignment. It’s nearly impossible to get them to stay down. My pastor told us about this analogy for life, how if we’re standing here today, we’re equivalent to a Weeble.

It’s a funny, silly analogy, but if you think about it, it’s very encouraging. Say we’re the Weeble, and no matter how hard life has tried to knock us down in the past, we got right back up. We’re still here today, springing back into an upright position. If you keep that mindset, that even if you get knocked down, you’ll get back up again, you may feel lighter when it comes to things going wrong.

Find encouragement in this: you’re still here. You got back up. You’re standing! What a fighter you are. I’m so proud of you. I hope you’re proud of yourself, too.
